Staunch advocate of VCU’s Schools of Nursing and the Arts donates in honor of la

Dr. Waverly Cole has been a friend, staunch advocate and faithful supporter of VCU’s Schools of Nursing and the Arts for nearly a decade. A close friend of the School of Nursing’s former dean, the late Doris B. Yingling, Cole recently made a $50,000 gift in honor of her and the current dean, Dr. Nancy Langston.

His gift will support the School of Nursing’s $13 million campaign. In 1998, Cole established the Waverly M. Cole Music Fund with a gift of $100,000. The fund supports VCU music students, with priority given to organists and prospective church musicians. Cole currently serves on the School of Nursing’s Advancement Council and is a member of the University’s Heritage Society.
