Atlanta ELEVATE Tour

VCU Alumni is embarking on its first international tour, and we’re coming to Atlanta Feb. 22-28.

The tour puts our new strategic plan, ELEVATE (Expanding Leadership, Enrichment and Volunteerism for Alumni Through Engagement), in motion and brings new opportunities and programming to elevate your alumni experience. Friday, Feb. 22

The Secret Sauce: Behind the Scenes at Chick-fil-A*

Enjoy a fun, storytelling experience about the fascinating history and culture of Chick-fil-A during this exclusive “backstage tour.” Learn about the company’s unique business model, the “Eat Mor Chikin” Cows and so much more! Your ticket includes a boxed lunch of a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, a bag of waffle potato chips and a chocolate chunk cookie.

Habitat for Humanity Build

Help your local Atlanta community members thrive and grow in their own home. Join VCU at a Habitat for Humanity build. Volunteers will receive a Habitat for Humanity registration link to fill out the wavier. Registration includes lunch and a VCU service T-shirt provided at the build site.

Sunday, Feb. 24

Atlanta Alumni Brunch

Kick off your week with a delicious brunch at the Whiskey Bird with fellow alumni. Put on your favorite VCU gear and come share your favorite VCU memories, connect and help build the VCU community in Atlanta and learn how you can stay connected to your university.

VCU Day at the Aquarium*

Join the VCU community for a remarkable, fun-filled time of aquatic wonder as we explore the world-famous Georgia Aquarium at a fabulously low price. The aquarium’s newly reopened Cold Water Quest exhibit features an expanded penguin and otter space and new beluga whales. The first 15 alumni who register can go behind the scenes with guided tours, so sign up early!

Evening Reception with VCU

Ma’s Streetmeal Prep*

Help prepare meals that will be delivered Wednesday for the homeless at SafeHouse, an organization that provides support to the homeless in Atlanta.

Watch Party - VCU vs. St. Louis

National Center for Civil and Human Rights Tour

CDC Museum Tour and Networking Mixer

Learn about the fascinating history of public health on this guided tour of the David J. Sencer CDC Museum. Tour starts at 3 p.m. and concludes on the private enclosed patio at Marlow Tavern across the street at Emory Point as we connect with one another, our alma mater and our city. Join us for both activities or register for just one or the other.
