Mini memoir writing workshop
We all have a story to tell — why not tell yours? Whether you want to write about your own life or chronicle your family history, this session will help you jump-start putting your unique experience in black and white.
Sonja Livingston, associate professor in the VCU English department, will guide you through a variety of published pieces and writing prompts that spark inspiration in this supportive and interactive writing-intensive workshop. Suitable for all levels.
The workshop is designed for small groups. Please register early to ensure you can attend.

About Sonja Livingston
Sonja Livingston is the author of four books, including “Ghostbread,” a memoir of childhood poverty; it won a Book Prize for Nonfiction from the Association of Writers and Writers Programs and has been widely adopted for classroom use. Her latest project, 52 Snapshots: A Memoir Starter Kit, provides writing prompts for works of creative nonfiction and memoir. She has been honored with New York State Arts Fellowship, an Iowa Review Award and a VanderMey Nonfiction Prize, among others.
